Killing Cockroaches Using Pesticides

April 18, 2008

If you have a cockroach problem you have probably tried various ways to kill the creeps. Good chance they all failed. The cockroach is the ultimate survivor. You can even chop off their heads and they still live for at least another week. When killing cockroaches is on your to do list, you might have to try chemical warfare. If that’s the road your going to take, there are a few safety guidelines that you need to follow.

First and most important: make absolutely sure that the chemicals you choose is designed for killing cockroaches. Important rule #2: always (did you see the word ‘always’?) follow the instructions manufacturer’s label. You want to poison the roaches at the entrances and exits to your house. You’ve should spray on the inside and outside of your doorways and along the cracks of every window.

Also remember to spray the chemicals around the holes that would lead to the interior walls of your house. You might find them near water faucets, gutters, or basement hatchway doors. Be thorough. Extremely thorough! Make sure that all food products, are picked up and stowed away safely before you spray. Don’t forget your pets food! Speaking of pets: never spray near dog beds or other areas where your pet might sleep.

Pesticide takes anything between 15 and 30 minutes to dry. Unless you use oil-based pesticides. Oil-based chemicals take even a little longer. Sometimes up to an hour or more. The manufacturer’s label should tell you exactly how long.

If you spray too much oil-based pesticide, you can sop up the extra with a paper towel. Don’t pretend to be tough. Wear rubber gloves.

Remember that pesticides are dangerous and they are poison. Pesticides are meant to kill. If you get the pesticide on your hands make sure you wash them well after you finish spraying.

Killing Cockroaches By Roach-Proofing Your House

April 18, 2008

If you have cockroaches living under your roof, they are only there because you let them in.

Ouch, that hurts, I know. But it is the truth.

You have to start killing cockroaches because one way or the other and probably without knowing, you have provided a place for them to live. Cockroaches are always on the move, looking for a comfortable place to stay. So if the path they travel runs through your house, there has to be good reason for it.

Here is the good news though: there are many ways for you to cut down this road traffic. The most important thing you can do is block the access to your house. Make sure there are no piles of leaves or lose trash nearby. Roaches love to get into wet damp areas where they can hide from the sunlight. They hate daylight!

These wet and damp areas are breeding grounds for roaches and you don’t want them anywhere near your house. Look for cracks in your foundation near the ground. Those cracks could lead up to the interior of your walls. Killing cockroaches starts with keeping things clean, organized, tide and sealed.

When killing Cockroaches, Time Is Not On Your Side

April 18, 2008

If you see one roach in your house, you probably have hundreds, thousands or maybe even tens of thousands. So don’t delay. Start killing cockroaches. Time is not on your side. It’s on the roaches side. You have get killing cockroaches immediately. Today, if humanly possible. Because the 1,000 cockroaches you have living under your roof today, will probably be a couple of thousand tomorrow.

Yes, that’s how fast these creeps reproduce.

Roaches can produce up to 30 egg capsules and within those capsules there could be 15 to 50 eggs. One female cockroach can have up to 30,000 offspring in their lifetime. And it gets worse. Because the offspring is sexually active within 8-12 weeks and start producing baby roaches themselves. The number of cockroaches you have to kill will not just grow, it will explode.
